*主语是The number of students,动词该用is还是are?**

*先行词是thing,后面跟that还是which?**

? *The number of applicants has increased.*(the number 是单数概念 → 用has)

? *The number of applicants have increased.*(常见错误!

? *Neither Lily nor her parents are coming.*(就近原则:parents离动词近 → 复数)

? *Neither her parents nor Lily is coming.*(同样就近:Lily是单数 → is)

分数/百分数+of结构:看of后面的名词!of the water → 单数;of the students → 复数

and连接两个名词:一般复数;但表示同一人/物(a singer and dancer)或固定搭配(fish and chips)→ 单数

This is the book that/which I bought yesterday.*

→ 先行词book在从句中作宾语(I bought what?

This is the author who wrote the book.*

?
*She lives in the city where she was born.*

→ where = in which,因为从句缺地点状语(she was born in where? → 不对;she was born in the city → 所以用where)

先看先行词指人还是指物 → who/whom(人),which/that(物)

→ 作主语/宾语 → who/that/which

→ 作原因状语 → why(只用于the reason why…)

? *My brother, that lives in Beijing, is a doctor.*

? *My brother, who lives in Beijing, is a doctor.*

很多同学靠“读着顺”选答案,但中考命题老师就爱出“听着顺、其实错”的干扰项——比如 *One of the boys like 热门小说 www.esoua.com football.*(错!one of…

第二行:这个关系词在从句中是______(主语/宾语/状语),所以该用______
